I’m beyond excited to officially launch Awassa Wanderer, my travel blog where I’ll share our family’s unique journey as expats—exploring new places, embracing cultural exchange, and navigating daily life abroad.

From Awassa to the World: My Story

Born in the picturesque town of Awassa, Ethiopia, I carry the rich tapestry of my culture with me as I build a life in the United States with my American spouse. My childhood was filled with adventure—playing soccer with friends, hiking through scenic landscapes, swimming in refreshing lakes, and biking along winding paths. Growing up in a close-knit family, I was surrounded by supportive neighbors, an enriching education, and a vibrant community that shaped who I am today.

My upbringing in a deeply spiritual household connected me to Ethiopia’s rich traditions, where I found joy in music-filled church services, communal gatherings, and the warmth of family bonds. Now, as an expat and mother, I find myself blending those cherished values with new experiences in different corners of the world.
